E-hailing Vehicle Declaration
E-hailing Vehicle Declaration
The Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) strongly advises Maxim Partner-drivers to change vehicle status to e-hailing before renewing road tax.
The status will be changed from private vehicle (AB/AD) to e-hailing vehicle (AH). The change of status is FOC.
You can visit any nearest JPJ branch that deals with vehicle registration and licensing, except UTC. You will need a valid insurance coverage during the declaration.
Together with the valid insurance coverage, you will need additional two more documents -
- a valid EVP
- PUSPAKOM (VR1) report if your vehicle has already reached the age limit of 3 years from the date of registration or manufacturing year
What documents should I prepare?
The declaration of the car is available to the owner or his representative. The vehicle usage code must be AB/AD (personal vehicle). A Grant (technical data sheet) is not required. A new VOC can be obtained for a set fee.
If you are the owner
✓ A copy of your identity card (IC).
✓ Physical EVP
✓ Private Car Declaration Form for e-hailing JPJ-EH1 (Pind.1/2021).
✓ The form for changing/correcting vehicle and owner data JPJK8 (Pind.1/2016).
✓ PUSPAKOM Inspection Report (VR1) for vehicles older than 3 years from the date of registration or year of manufacture.
If you are a representative
✓ A copy of the identity cards — IC for you and the owner.
✓ Physical EVP of the owner.
✓ Letter of Authorization from the owner.
It is important to know if your vehicle has returned to the original status of AB/AD, you are required to declare your vehicle as e-hailing vehicle (AH) again.
The car is registered to a company like Green Rental or Quick Ride
JPJ automatically updates vehicle data in the mySIKAP system for vehicles approved by the Minister. The approval is valid for 10 years from the date of registration. New applications for the replacement or addition of company vehicles will not be accepted.
The e-hailing status has been canceled and the car has been returned to its personal status
In this case, the car must be declared again.
